School Holiday “Learning Lego” Programme Announced!

Great news! The Gold Coast TechSpace is hosting another series of Lego workshops during the upcoming school holidays.
We will be having two workshops for 7-10 year olds and two workshops for 11-14 year olds.

Spaces are very limited so please RSVP and PAY ONLINE as soon as possible. Payments will not be accepted at the door like at previous events.

7 to 10 year olds, Lego Machines workshops:

Cost: $20 per child (parents welcome to stay for free)

Details:

This vacation workshop is aimed at 7-10 year olds. It’s NOT Lego mindstorm robotics, just using regular lego + some technics + elastic bands + some other creative things such as tooth floss!
Workshop #1 and #2 above are the same, they are just run on different dates.

There is a charge of $20 for this meetup, which includes a free gift for every child taking part to take home. Parents can stay with their child or leave them and pick up at the end. A showcase of the children’s creations will be given at the end for the parents.

Any money raised will be used to buy more technics Lego for the TechSpace. No payments accepted on the day, you need to pay via paypal when you RSVP.

11 to 14 year olds, Lego Mindstorms workshops:

Details:

This vacation workshop is for 11-14 year olds interested in getting started in Robotics with Lego Mindstorms.
Workshop #1 and #2 above are the same, they are just run on different dates.

The session will introduce you how to create your own robot using Mindstorms kits from Lego. The session involves construction and programming of a robot, anything from a car to a ball sorter. You can have a look through the standard designs for something to build or invent your own – then use the Lego software to write a program to control your design. Work on your own or team up with others from the class, either way you are sure to get a good start in Robotics and have a lot of fun.

There is a charge of $20 for this meetup and there is a limit of 10 attendees, so book now to avoid disappointment. Parents can stay with their child or leave them and pick up at the end. A showcase of the children’s creations will be given at the end for the parents.
