Another full house at the TechSpace with lots of activity around the Virtual Reality theme
Dave Baker brought in his tricked up “Follow bot” with a Linksys router on top acting as a wireless access point so you could watch the on board camera stream a live feed through to your phone with the screens split and duplicated for viewing using Google Cardboard. Dave’s next trick is to hook up the javascript libraries to the phone accelerometer and control the follow bot by simply turning and tilting the head.
Des Walsh bought in a Samsung Gear VR headset – for the simplicity of the device, we were all pretty impressed with the quality and effectiveness of it.
Finally, Miles brought in his full Occulus Rift rig which was very impressive.
